Meet Indy

We have a new addition to our family.  Bret and I adopted a little puppy on Tuesday after school.  Meet Indy (short for Independence).  He is about 5 months old, born on April 9 and is as sweet as can be.  He was rescued from an abandoned apartment.  He was left there for almost 4 weeks with only a small bag of dog food and the toilet open for some water (If he figured it out).  He is PERFECT and gets along so well with our other two dogs.  3 dogs is a lot but we couldn't pass him up.  Take a look at the pictures.

Newfee and Indy playing in the backyard.  It is good exercise for both of them.  When the day is done they both sleep soundly.  They love to chase each other around the yard.  Indy watches every move from Newfee.

Indy and Apache like to walk around the yard.  Apache is 14 and he doesn't really care for all of Indy's excitement but they love spending time together.

These are the three babies that keep us busy all the time.

Apple Picking

On Sunday, we woke up and the weather was great for some apple picking at Weston Red Barn Farm.  We have done this for a few years now and it is so much fun.  The apples are not the best quality, but it is the experience that makes it a lot of fun!
They also have a pumpkin patch, hay rides, corn maze, petting zoo, farm animals, and a great little country store.  Bret and I plan on returning to get some pumpkins and go on the hay ride sometime soon.  They have a large variety of different kinds of pumpkins.
I don't look great in this next picture but look at all the apples on the trees. There were TONS of them. We were picky in which ones we chose because I only want to eat the best.
This is Bret showing off our bushel of apples.  We picked a lot of different kinds. I think there were jonathan, gayla, golden delicious, braeburn, and another one that I can't recall.
It was a great way to enjoy the 68 degree weather we had this weekend!  When I got home I made some yummy apple crisp and we enjoyed it with vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Glenna's Birthday

Happy Birthday Glenna!
Over Labor Day all the girls went out for lunch at Yard House for Glenna's birthday back in August. This is Grandma and her two grand daughters.  Also, my nieces Regan and Katelyn,

This is Glenna and her best friend Sally.  She came to lunch with us. Glenna and Sally have been friends since grade school.

Victor, Montana

After leaving Washington State, Bret and I drove back to Kansas City with our two dogs.  Some VERY special people invited us to stay in their "Love Shack" for 2 nights.  Ed, Linda, and Mason are so sweet, kind, generous, and OH SO FUN!  We LOVE going to visit them in Montana.  They have a LOVELY house, a guest cabin ("Love Shack") and a saloon.  They have a large open field where our dogs and their dog Rosie could run and play all day long.
This is sweet Mason down by the river that runs through their property.

This is Mason and me.  I have known Mason for several years and have watched her grow into a beautiful young lady.  I was Mason's Kindergarten teacher when I taught in Arizona and we have always shared a speical bond and friendship.  LOVE this girl!

Thank you Voss family for the wonderful time and the great little get away!  We are already looking forward to next year.  Put us on the calendar!

Mt. Hood, Oregon

This past summer, while visiting my family in Washington, we go the opportunity to drive to Mt. Hood Oregon and stay at a vacation rental there.  Below are some of the pictures.  On the way to Oregon, we picked up Bret's mom from the airport in Seattle and brought her with us.

I love this man!

After exploring the moutain, we went to dinner at a great brewery!  It was good food, good beer, and good company!  The name was Ice Axe Grill.  I recommend it to anyone visiting Mt. Hood!
